About Us

On behalf of all the staff, pupils and Trustees of Pennine Academies Yorkshire, I am delighted to welcome you to Hollingwood Primary School. I am proud to lead and be part of a dedicated team of staff who place the school at the heart of the community.

Hollingwood is an outward facing school working closely in partnership with parents and a wide range of agencies to ensure that every child in our care gets the best possible start in life.

Hollingwood is a large 2 form entry primary school set on beautiful grounds with an on site Nursery and wrap around care facilities. We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive and nurturing school that has high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils and staff. We have a Local Authority led Resourced Provision for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs based on the school site.

It is our aim for all our children to be happy, independent learners, demonstrating resilience and an abiding respect for others. Through school we actively promote an ethos of respect and empathy where diversity is valued and celebrated in preparation for taking their place as responsible citizens in modern Britain.

We have a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for all children and strive to ensure that they receive a well- rounded education. We aim to ensure that every child makes exceptional progress academically, socially and emotionally.

We aim to instil a lifelong love for learning through a creative and bespoke curriculum designed to achieve a strong grounding for future success. Our children enjoy an exciting array of curriculum enrichment opportunities- ranging from productions, performances, outdoor learning, forest school, visitors in school, clubs, trips and competitions.

We know these experiences are essential in motivating and engaging children in their learning but also in increasing their knowledge, expanding their vocabulary, building confidence and developing their character.

We want our children to leave Hollingwood with lifelong, happy memories of their primary school years.

I am extremely proud of our school. Visitors often comment on the warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere in school and how polite and respectful our children are.

I hope you enjoy looking around our website which will give you a snapshot into life at Hollingwood. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our school. I welcome you to come and visit us to see for yourself what a special place this school is.
