At Hollingwood, safeguarding children online is a key priority. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils can use technology safely, responsibly and confidently. Through our curriculum, assemblies and dedicated online safety lessons, children learn how to stay safe online, protect their personal information, recognise potential risks and know what to do if they encounter anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.
We teach pupils about respectful online behaviour, cyberbullying, digital footprints and the importance of making positive choices when using the internet.
To support this, the school uses secure filtering and monitoring systems to help protect children while they are online in school. These systems monitor and flag inappropriate use of devices and content. The filteirng systems will alert senior leaders immediately who then take prompt action to keep everyone safe.
We also work closely with parents and carers, sharing guidance and resources to promote safe and responsible use of technology at home.
Regular workshops for parents are help in school to keep them updated in what is a fast and ever changing online world.
Online safety messages are regulalry sent home to parents.
