Geography

At Hollingwood, our Geography curriculum inspires curiosity about the world through a reading-led approach that develops global awareness, critical thinking and enquiry skills. Pupils explore diverse places, cultures and environments while building knowledge of human and physical geography and key geographical vocabulary. Learning begins in Early Years through Understanding the World and progresses through carefully sequenced topics, from the local area to a wider “trip around the world” in Key Stage 2. High-quality texts support knowledge and understanding, while fieldwork develops observation, mapping and data skills. Through engaging, practical learning, pupils gain a deeper understanding of real-world issues and human-environment interactions.
