Religious Education

At Hollingwood, RE develops Children’s understanding of world faiths, identity, and diversity through Bradford’s Believing and Belonging syllabus.

Learning is structured through focus and core units, revisiting key concepts across six major religions. Lessons encourage reflection, discussion, and respect for different beliefs, while promoting British values and inclusion. As a result, chidlren demonstrate strong knowledge of religious ideas and practices, think critically, and express their views with empathy. They develop moral reasoning, spiritual awareness, and tolerance. A culture of respect and community cohesion is evident, supported by experiences such as visits to places of worship, preparing pupils to thrive in a diverse society.

If any parent wants to withdraw their child from RE, they must put this in writing to the Headteacher, who will then invite them to attend a meeting to discuss the matter further.
